Backstory:
Kabaji had always been a shy boy. Atobe was the first one to break through that barrier and become a friend. Then Atobe went to high school and started focusing more on becoming the Atobe heir, leaving Kabaji to try to break his own barriers and make friends.
It didn’t work too well. When all set to head to high school, his family decided to return back to England, claiming Japan was too much for them. Kabaji finished out his schooling in England before going to a small college for cooking, having no idea what to do with his life and so going with the first opportunity presented. There, another student suggested he use what he was given. Kabaji was recruited on to a rugby team.
It took a few months, and a couple of broken bones, before he could get used to the idea of knocking people about for fun. Though after a particularly nasty game, Kabaji called it quits and went back to college, this time for a degree in environmental science. He still wasn’t sure about the degree until he spent a week out camping in a forest, surrounded by quiet with only the plants, animals, and stars for company. After, he went to work in Scotland with the forestry department.
Two weeks ago, Kabaji got a call he never expected. Atobe had tracked him down to ask for help with reopening a hotel, the L'Atobe. It took him a few days to decide whether to stay or return to Japan to help his first friend. Sentimentalism won out and he hopped on the next flight to Tokyo.
